Flowband provides atraumatic and precise AVF flow reduction without the need to occlude, puncture, or potentially damage the vessel.
Current AVF flow reduction methods are all personal-preference surgical techniques. While suture banding is currently popular, one has no control over the flow one will obtain.
Flowband was conceived and developed to satisfy the need for a controlled banding device. With convenient diameter control, flow can be incrementally changed in a stable fashion. The specific flow reductions needed to optimally operate AV systems may be performed.
Flowband provides a complete solution to AVF flow control. The diameter of the polyurethane band is continuously variable. The controller has a sub-mm scale which displays approximate band diameter using the front of the screw as a reference.
- Four turns of the adjusting nut changes band diameter by 1mm
- The detachable controller provides fine and continuous diameter adjustment
- Band diameter ranges from 4mm to 15mm
- Diameter is stable between adjustments, allowing for hands-free collection of clinical data
- Compatible with the use of flow ultrasound
- Simple and quick installation
- Band is radiopaque
- No need to puncture or occlude the vessel
The figure above shows example data taken with the Flowband demonstrating precision diameter control. Data points are 1 full turn of the adjusting nut apart (0.25 mm).
